Sandra’s career in design has taken her far and wide – from Michigan to NYC, then to Chicago and back to the East Coast once again. She has worked on luxury apartments in Manhattan, homes in Westchester, Victorian residences in New Jersey, urban town homes in Chicago and on a live segment on ABC’s The View featuring her design for Joy Behar’s New York apartment. Sandra now lives with her husband, Jay, and dog, Mack, in a 100-year old home in Montclair, NJ that she is diligently restoring.
It was an atypical start in the design world for Sandra – graduating with a degree in Finance from Michigan State University led to a career in consulting. No one would have imagined that her work on web designs for Fortune 500 companies would spark what we know today as Funk Design. Aided by her passion for creativity, functionality and elegance, an entrepreneurial spirit, and techniques acquired at NYC’s famed Parson School of Design, Sandra is making a name for herself in the design world.
There is a casual elegance in Sandra’s work, which she blends with her client’s personal taste. Her passion is making a home into a comfortable, functional and relaxing retreat while bringing a touch of indulgence to the details.
